My SD card's file system supports a last modified timestamp; that is 'adb shell touch /mnt/sdcard/foo' works as expected. I need to check that calling from runtime works as well.

I couldn't reproduce this with a test case.

Instead it persists on with no way to cancel it. I have no data. I have no WiFi. This is extremely bad. Now I don't trust it to work in the wild when I actually need it.

Also, swiping it to the edges causes it to build up some positional state and you need to swipe it back the same amount... 🤦♂️ Google, please fix
