My SD card's file system supports a last modified timestamp; that is 'adb shell touch /mnt/sdcard/foo' works as expected. I need to check that calling from runtime works as well.

the brightness of the screen stays the same as set
What actually happened?
in the same ambient brightness (room) the brightness level of the screen keeps changing. Slight annoyance, the device works as well (no overheating, no crashing apps), but it's disturbing as the brightness frequently changes from very dark to full brightness.
