After upgrading to O DP2 (from N) some fonts are noticeably bolder than they used to be. I am one of the developers working on Pocket, so the difference was most noticeable in this app for me. But I believe I can see the same effect in some other apps. Also a friend mentioned they saw this in some other apps as well.

I was able to create a small test project that uses our custom font and built in Roboto both on N and on O preview. I can't share the custom font we're using and by extension I can't share the test project, but I am attaching a screenshot that shows the comparison of fonts rendered by N and O DP2. As you can see it's happening just for semibold, bold and xbold variants of our custom fonts. Regular and light variants don't seem to be affected and the built in Roboto font seems to be fine as well.

    * What device are you using? Nexus 6P

    * What are the steps to reproduce the problem? Open Pocket, go to "My list" screen, observe font weights for article titles. Works for production or beta version of the app.

    * What was the actual result? Fonts bolder than regular (semibold/medium, bold, extra bold) have greater weight than they used to have on N and all other previous versions.
