The same happens when trying to install eap versions of the plugin (e.g. 1.1.3-eap-85-Studio3.0-1).

Yes, we had to temporarily disable updates. This will be fixed in Canary 5.

After updating Android Studio 3 Canary 3 to Canary 4, I'm unable to update Kotlin IDE plugin to version 1.1.2-5 from 1.1.2-4.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade from Android Studio 3 Canary 3 to Canary 4
2. Goto Android Studio Preferences
3. Click on Plugins
4. Click on "Install JetBrains plugin..."
5. Search for "Kotlin" and select it from the search results
6. Notice that the "Update" button is visible and that the latest version is 1.1.2-5
7. Click update and wait for the download to finish
8. Click on Restart Android Studio button and then Restart
9. Android Studio will reload
10. Repeat steps 2-6 and observe that the update was unsuccessful
