Our engineering team is aware of this feature request and are currently investigating its implementation. Note there is currently no ETA for the release.

Hi,
Are there released features for SSL certs expiration? Noticed that that first issue was logged almost a year ago. Appreciate Google's response.
Thanks.

A few of my cusotmers are now asking for this feature as well. Preferred cadence of 60/30/15/7/ day notices

Google, it’s halfway through 2019. Haven’t heard any
serious monitoring systems have no ssl cert check. As your paying customer, have to write scripts or look other solutions for this. Seriously?

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out, it is quite timely. We are in the process of preparing for this launch. It is expected to be available to Uptime Check customers in July 2019 - next month! I will keep the bug updated. Also, look out for an Uptime product update announcement via email.

Hi OP here, really glad to finally see some movement on this.
Do you have an official update to this issue?
I see a new feature now in the Advanced Options (attached image).
This is very much a step in the right direction, but I (and other server operators I am sure) would love to have proactive alerting rather than reactive alerting.
I can now know my SSL cert is dead, but that is already too late for a high availability platform.
Please consider pre-expiry notices / variable or as another poster mentioned cadence of 60/30/15/7/ day settings.
Many thanks.

I would not consider a certificate that has 6 days to expire to be valid for Uptime Checking purposes. That would be an easy fix that would make all the customers happy.

I'm trying to use the "SSL Certificate Validation" option, but the uptime always fail with "Responded with SSL Handshake Error in 10000 ms." and cannot find any useful information to diagnose the cause if this failure.
Is the feature fully implemented and supported?
Any pointers to help me troubleshoot this situation would be greatly appreciated.
Many thx,

Found my problem! Needed to install the intermediate certificate on the targeted site.
Hope this will help anyone facing this situation.

thank you for sharing this @gzmo268, can you enlarge on how did you install that intermediate certificate on the targeted site or what documentation did you follow to do it? thanks again
Description
Why not add an SSL certificate check to the uptime monitoring ( I would make the alerting variable, LetsEncrypt needs something like 7 days, while your production certificate should give alters at 30 days as an example ).
Also it should be optional.
