Yes please :) Along with a more specific definition of how the Popular Times are determined (how much history? done by mobile device activity? check ins?)

@r22, I think Jeff is referring to the ability to split popular times by day of week in the information released by the API, not the currently existing web GUI.
Maybe the info appears as a nested object? e.g. "popular times" > "day of week" > "hour of day" > traffic count

Would be extremely helpful to have access to this data directly via the API. Is it maybe available via another API?

Description
-----------------------
What would you like to see us add to this API?
The ability to specify marker locations using Place ID instead of just addresses or latlngs.
I have been doing a lot of work with the Directions API and the Distance Matrix API, both of which allow Place IDs to passed by simply adding the `place_id:` prefix to fields which traditionally accept latlngs or addresses. It would be helpful if the Static Maps API had similar support so I didn't have to go through and convert all these Place IDs before calling the Static Maps API.
