As per the documentations [1] websockets on App Engine are currently not yet supported. If your application requires websockets it is recommended to use Google Kubernetes Engine [2] or Google Compute Engine [3] with the help of our migration guide [4].
Work on App Engine websockets is currently in progress and you can apply for the early access program here [5]. It is recommended that you follow the Public Issue for App Engine websockets support [6] as all further communications and updates will occur there.
