It would be super helpfull to not only color format text, but also background color. You could, for example, highlight Scorecard KPI's with a red background that would signal trouble within an instant, without even having to read/interpret. You would instantly know there's trouble or, in case it would be green for example, you're doing great!

This is critical issue for reporting to client, as one of advertiser we responsibility to give status information of KPI.
For example:
Var x = Avg. install per day from ads
Var y = KPI per day
Var z = Campaign day remaining.
Var a = Total installed from Ads
Var b = Total KPI
with these variables we can determine if campaign will reach the KPI or not, or at least we will get the percentage of total KPI we can reach and if the value is under perform (conditional formating: change font color to red), we can prevent that by more optimize the ads and so on.
+99 from me XD

Perhaps if you fixed the issue or gave an update people wouldn't have to keep requesting 'Me too'...
rs...@google.com <rs...@google.com> #257
Sorry, I'm in no way related to the Engineering of this product. I found this bug and voted as a user of DataStudio. Trying my best to get their attention..
ad...@canon-europe.com <ad...@canon-europe.com> #258
Sorry for the assumption, although in hindsight it did seem too good to be true that a Data Studio engineer would actually read and respond to user requests!
[Deleted User] <[Deleted User]> #259
Is there an issuetracker to make the Me too button more visible? I really cannot find that button and I don’t see it under the search bar next to the Duplicate button either...

Perhaps we must click star icon for the mark "Mee too"?
rs...@google.com <rs...@google.com> #261
You are correct, there is a star to the left of the issue number, which everyone should click. I think I see the "Me too!" button because I used my google email

Would love this for heatmap. Sometimes the biggest number isn't what I would like to draw the audience's attention to.
For example, Cost-Per-Click (CPC) is better to highlight the lower cost for keywords. Rather than the new.

hi all,
Thank you for all of the feedback on this request.
I'm happy to let you know that single color conditional formatting is now available in reports. You can add conditional formatting to scorecards and tables. Add a scorecard or a table (pivot tables not supported yet) and open the Style tab and click "Add" under conditional formatting to get started. More details on the feature available in the help center here:https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/9528890
We're excited to get this functionality out to you but we're not done yet. We're actively working on color scale conditional formatting, supporting AND / OR statements in the condition builder and more. So please continue to share feedback on the feature as it will shape our ongoing investments.
As more updates are made, we'll continue to update this feature request and our weekly release notes here:https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/6311467?hl=en&ref_topic=6267740

Thanks for the update! It will be very helpfull to not have a condition as "constant" set into datastudio but something you can manage with a external input, like a cell in a spreadsheet or formula basis on some column, like the system we already have with "filter function".
I can imagine a scenario where a Manager can set a weekly target in a spreadsheet. and the scorecard show with the conditional formatting red or green camparing this target.

Thanks for the feedback Marco. You can compare against a constant or another field e.g. Field A > Field B. Today, all fields need to be visible in the chart but we're planning to expand to support any metric in the data source regardless of whether it's visible in the chart or not. Would this solve your use case?
Re pivot tables, they're on our to do list! Our current estimate is late Q4 for pivot tables.

I didn't see the chance to campare Field A vs Field B in chart; this is good but in a scorecard you have only one field, so in this case would be great to compare to a Value choosen into the data source . So your solution should be good for me.
If this solution is ongoing already, any ETA?
Another scenario could be to compare Filed A vs Field B but with a formula;
like "Field A > (Field B*10/100)"
thanks

This is a great addition!!! But it seems the conditions only apply to values in the same row, not across multiple. I want to be able to highlight all rows that share duplicate values. For example, if row 56 has a column who's value is "203039" and row 789 also has that same value, I want to highlight both of those rows.
Currently, this can be done in Google Sheets using a custom formula: =countif(A:A,A1)>1

The addition of conditional formatting is great -- thanks! But it needs to be applied to the Summary Row in tables the same way it is applied to the other rows.

would be great if we can apply some conditional formatting on columns that are not displayed in the table.

would be a great help if this can be applied to bar graphs as well.

Conditional formatting based on targets. Use case scenario: A Table with actual values from (A) Data Source and another similar table with target values from (B) Data Source.
Each target cell is different based on row and column (think of KPIs). It would be great if there was automated conditional formatting that corresponds to each cell of a target value to each cell of the actual value.

Good progress so far, wondering if the ability to apply conditional formatting to the background of a scorecard based on the comparison period is going to be implemented soon? Currently you can only apply formatting to the percent/absolute delta of the comparison period.

Conditional formatting is useful in sheets and can be applied to pivot tables (at least selecting the range where the pivot will live).
It would be awesome to have similar functionality (individual rules / color ranges) for pivots in Data Studio.
