There aren't many cases where you need to create androidTest/AndroidManifest.xml, but people that decide to do so may expect to be able to control the test R class package from there. It seems that right now the test R class always uses the testApplicationId as computed from the DSL and the merger silently ignores package from the test manifest.

We should at least issue a build time warning/error if there's a conflict on the test package name. Or alternatively do the same as we do in normal manifest: separate application ID from the generate package name and use the latter for aapt.

The issue appeared fixed for a few days from Tue May 21, but it appears to be back again.

Thanks for reporting this issue. I've been able to replicate it and have reported it to the engineering team. At the moment there are no known workarounds for the developer using the API.

I have the same probem. Using CalenGoo with Google tasks API, I cannot see tasks created or modified in Google Calendar in it. It's very annoying because what I see in calendar is not what I see in Calengoo on my smartphone. I can confirm that some days ago everything was working fine.
