Can you share a sample app that shows the functionality that you are currently using in your iOS app so we can provide further justification into your feature request? If possible, a short clip of the functionality would be helpful as well.

Our iOS team created an isolated example. I can't check it because I don't have an Apple device but attached you can find the source code.

There is a proposed implementation mentioned in the Android Maps Compose library on GitHub. We welcome interested developers to provide feedback about whether it would fit your needs. Best place to provide feedback if you're using Compose would be as a comment in that GitHub issue.
If not using Compose, continue to comment and star this issue to request custom views-based markers.

In our case, we are trying to display some custom generated things as well as animate the view.
Markers in the iOS SDK do have a property iconView which allows passing an UIView, so it'd be neat to see this supported on Android as well.
