What would you like to see us add to this API?
To post a lat/lng and get popular public events returned around that location, sorted by distance or event start time

Possibly in the Maps / Places API, although most likely a new API for Events (different to Calendar events).

Which Google API can access events near me, like the events showing in this URL? I'm looking to post a lat/lng and get popular public events returned around that location.
Please give a use case or explain where and why you need this feature:
Similar to the Places API, which returns public places, although returning public Events instead. For apps / websites to integrate and display lists of public events near users. It would also be great if we could get a referral fee etc for advertising the event in an app / website and a percentage of sale if the users we link to the event ends up purchasing a ticket.
