The current name and documentation or registerJavaGeneratingTask only mentions java (

https://android.googlesource.com/platform/tools/base/+/refs/heads/mirror-goog-studio-master-dev/build-system/gradle-core/src/main/java/com/android/build/gradle/api/BaseVariant.java#463) while I think this method also works with Kotlin generating tasks.

It would be nice to update the documentation to clear some confusion for plugin developers.

I found there is a typo in your configuration:

# keep names of exception classes
-keepname class * extends java.lang.Throwable

which should be "keepnames".
