In 109759781 (and its duplicates) a high number of API users requested ability to delete photos uploaded by their applications. The rejection comment is vague and unclear. Google Drive API, which is a product of the same company, has full support for delete functionality, thus references to potential abuse usage sound immature and inconsistent.

This request is to re-consider the API for applications to delete photos previously uploaded by these applications or to provide an adequate explanation to the API users why such API exists for Google Drive but not for Google Photos.

We understand that this is a popular feature request for the Google Photos Library API. However, given the sensitives around deletion, this is not a feature that we can make available through the API at this point.

We have also considered other alternatives and limitations to the calls as well (for example archiving media), but currently this is not something that the Library API will support.
