So I needed to use JDK 8 in my android project due to issues with DateFormatter. When trying to switch the JDK location in project settings, it allows me to switch in the UI to my JAVA_HOME. I press apply and OK, then build the project. The IDE says it is using the embedded JDK still. I go back into project settings and the embedded JDK is selected!
I had to revert to stable 4.0.1 for this to work as expected.
