Hi,
I work for Ambulance Victoria (AV) in Australia. I'm part of a working group delivering a program called Heart Safe Communities (HSC). HSC is a public health initiative improving survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest by empowering bystanders to step in and have a go at CPR along with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
CPR and the use of AED's are critical factors in increasing cardiac arrest survival rates out of hospital. Thousand of people suffer cardiac arrest each year, and without assistance, only 1 in 10 people survive. CPR and the use of an AED increase survival rates by 72%. One of our goals is to increase the number of publicly accessible AED's within our communities. There are various first responder apps that map locations of AED's however I know Google Maps is a far more commonly used resource when seeking the location of everyday features. I believe the registration of AED's on Google Maps would enable many more people to take life-saving action.
Thank you for your time, I look forward to your response.
