Thanks, We have passed this feature request onto our engineering team and we will update this issue as more information becomes available.

If for some reason it doesn't work, possibly because of advertising, then we could also limit it to premium membership.
So many people have wanted this feature for years that more people might switch to the paid subscription of YouTube Music

Hi, I hope this feature will be release soon. Hi, I hope this feature will be added soon.
For my part, if it is only available for Youtube Music it would seem to me to be quite fairplay.
In terms of options, it would be really useful to be able to set the crossfade on a duration. For example from 2 to 10 seconds before the end of the music.

Not having this feature is one of the biggest reasons why people don't switch from Spotify. I know this because I am always pitching Youtube Music to my networks and this is the #1 pushback. I'd even pay more for this as an Add-On, (but not much more), but would be better if at least part of the normal paid YTMusic membership.
This doesn't even need to have auto beat matching, at least not at first.

come on guys, we need this... need to be first in your Backlog
ta...@gmail.com <ta...@gmail.com> #16
why is the Priority on this feature request in your work item so low, many of my friends and others keep using other music apps including Crossfade, I'm sure they would switch to Youtube music if you have this feature as well, why would you want to lose money?
pa...@gmail.com <pa...@gmail.com> #17
Been asking for this since YouTube music came out. Still no sign of it happening.
ca...@gmail.com <ca...@gmail.com> #18
I am been tempted in switching to Spotify just for this feature 🥲
ne...@gmail.com <ne...@gmail.com> #19
The only major music streaming service that doesn't have crossfade and its such a huge feature. I love youtube music and the algorithm and curation and integration with Youtube, but when I am working out or running, this is a major immersion breaking feature.
al...@gmail.com <al...@gmail.com> #20
Same here, for such a platform it would be a must have. Simply because this im considering on using other platform.
ur...@gmail.com <ur...@gmail.com> #21
the main problem of this is for people using youtube music app for offices, or salons, etc.
A playlist that stops for 10 seconds between every song is a nightmare!! think about that.

Pretty wild that this feature isn't standard on a streaming service trying to compete with all the other major players. Sometimes I get the sense that Google is indifferent to actually attracting users to its service.
vi...@google.com <vi...@google.com> #23
Once again, thank you for submitting the feature request. After following up with our product and engineering teams, the feature request will not be considered at this time.

bring the cross-fade function ASAP!
pe...@bainbridgestanton.com <pe...@bainbridgestanton.com> #31
I agree. Not sure why it's not feasible when everyone else does it and if I remember correctly play music had it.
an...@gmail.com <an...@gmail.com> #32
Yeah I’m switching to Apple Music for crossplay. We don’t understand why you can’t add this. It’s so simple 👺
br...@gmail.com <br...@gmail.com> #33
Wake up you tube and add the cross fade function to premium membership. You are getting left behind while the competition runs circles around you.
ma...@gmail.com <ma...@gmail.com> #34
Hey YouTube are you alive? Bring this, I think we have to move to other sources now.
ja...@gmail.com <ja...@gmail.com> #35
I can't believe crossfading (and offline playback) is still not available even for Youtube Music Premium subscribers. Please please get this app up-to-par with other streaming offerings. It's a shame, and I don't want to go back to paying for Spotify instead. Thank you.
sc...@gmail.com <sc...@gmail.com> #36
@Google
Can we get another try please ? As you can see, do many people want crossfade …

ca...@gmail.com <ca...@gmail.com> #37
I'm on free trial, and won't be paying without crossfade
ap...@gmail.com <ap...@gmail.com> #38
This request has been asked for since 2022. No movement. Been a premium member for years and I’m moving out. Only thing stopping me was recreating my playlists but seems like they don’t care to improve this app at all so what am I paying for. Peace out
ad...@gmail.com <ad...@gmail.com> #39
I need that function, I want it, I am a premium user in 2024 and the competition has had it for years.
12...@gmail.com <12...@gmail.com> #40
We need Crossfade soon please
aa...@gmail.com <aa...@gmail.com> #41
Unbelievable this is still missing. Premium member for years. Going to try Spotify tonight, bye Google
to...@gmail.com <to...@gmail.com> #42
Please, please, please add a cross-fade feature, at least for Premium subscribers. As others have said, other services have provided this for years. This is such an important feature for many scenarios when it comes to music playback.
Shocked to see Google call it infeasible above. Reconsider and add it, Google!

Description
we need the crossfade option on YouTube Music please, as this tells a generally new music experience.
The uninterrupted transition to a new song is incredible. Many services like for example Tidal, Spotify or Apple Music use Crossfade
