So changing this section in my app/build.gradle file:
androidResources {
noCompress 'tflite'
}
to this:
androidResources.noCompress = "tflite"
Solves my issue. I still consider this a bug though...

This will be fixed in AGP 7.1.0-alpha07 (before then it accidentally has an 'it' reciever)

It might be worth backporting the fix for a 7.0.1, or at least removing the deprecation of the aaptOptions block so others aren't lead to this broken path

Yes, the issue is occurring on newer and other YouTube app version. I'm running now 17.41.36 and still have the problem

It's still an issue in YouTube version 18.06.35. Tried it on software version TQ1A.230205.002 and UPP1.230113.009 and the issue still exist

What steps would let us observe this issue?
1. Open YouTube and play any video.
2. Swipe up to go home when a video is playing so the video can play in "Picture in picture" mode
3. Drag the miniature video windows to the bottom of screen (to the blue circle with a cross in)
4. Swipe down to access notification center and media player
What did you expect to happen?
Play/pause button should be visible in notification center as when you tap on the headphone icon in the minimized video to play only audio (see second screen record)
What actually happened?
When you drag down the video in picture in picture mode, the play/pause button is invisible and the title is covering it place instead. Tap on the media player and you can glimpse play/pause button for a split second before YouTube app opens up and showing the video page

Same behavior should be applied to the play/pause button visibility independent on how you hide the video in picture in picture mode.
Tappning on the headphone icon in the small video to reveal play/pause button is the notification center is the correct way and should be applied the other method (drag down the minimized video to the bottom of the screen)
