The notificationa DO appear on my watch and in the notification history, in the device's settings.

They're broken just in the Notification tray(?).

Same. All of the drop down UI is not functioning. You are able to open the drop down, click on those quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, etc.) but they are not working. Meaning that if you turn on/of Bluetooth it still stays in the same state, light dimming manually doesn't do anything. Reboot helps

Notifications seem to be in DND, even though the mode is deactivated.

Trying to activate it does nothing, so maybe this is all related

Had the same issue and the symptoms listed above.

My workaround was to turn off notification history, now my notifications popped up again.

Had the same issue but it seems to be fixed for now after I updated to UPB3.230519.014 (I submitted the bug report before I manually checked for the update, my bad).

I still have the issue even with UPB3.230519.014 ... thismakes my phone kind of worthless right now.

This is occurring on my Pixel 7 Pro, but I believe it may be occurring whenever Android Auto is used. This is the 2nd time this ocurrs to me, prior to the occurrence I had my phone on wireless Android Auto.

Same on my Pixel 6 Pro. I'm a wired Android Auto user but not sure it's related.

I have a feeling that the trigger for this could be related to sleep mode (or whatever it's called - plugging in your phone before going to sleep).

I assume it doesn't trigger correctly when it starts, and the phone can't really get out when it's unplugged.

A few minutes ago, everything worked perfectly, up to the point when I plugged it in, then the whole section opened from the notification bar stopped working

This just occurred again to me after connecting my phone to a wireless Bluetooth speaker. I think it's a combination of external bluetooth connections and the "idle" mode that the user mentioned above.

I'm having Similar issue. Drop-down menu seems like it's functioning, but the UI is not acting. Meaning I get vibration that a notification came. But nothing appears in the drop down menu. When trying to use options on drop down menu (wifi, bluetooth, etc.) it shows that I clicked on it (animation) but nothing changes. The bluetooth does not turn on or off via drop down menu. Restart resolves this issue temporary. After sometime it comes back.

I have exact issue, but with some steps to reproduce:
1) Enable "Do not Disturb". Scheduled (night time) or for just one hour
2) Wait until "Do not Disturb" turns off
3) Wait for notification/incoming call

Excepted result: Notification/call shows up on screen, ringtone/notification sound plays

Actual result: Notification/call does not show up, but ringtone/notification sound plays

This should be P0 - can't use successfully phone for last few weeks. (since June's update)

I have the same problem on 14 beta 3 on 4a5g. Notifications vibrate and then disappear.

Issue not solved in Android 14 beta 3.1

We need this fixed asap. We can't even use a basic feature of Android. How did this even break? It was fine in beta 2.

For the comment above that talks about android auto, I don't have it, and the issue happens, so don't think it's related to android auto.

For me, it didn't happen again since a couple of days - not changed anything, just works again.

Confirming also appears to be working again after having updated to the most recent patch. Also, can relate with bedtime mode being a time for which it might be triggering the bug.

Installed the latest beta on a pixel 6 and notifications will stop after a period of time. Only a restart will temporarily fix

Come on, Google, if you cannot fix it in a day, roll this back to beta2 and deploy in beta3.2.
Beta 3 is a platform stability release, it should be usable as a daily driver except for some small features. And not receiving notifications (meaning even calls!) is not acceptable even for DP!!!

Stability means API Stability, not general stability. That'll be only once we're out of beta 3 and into beta 4.

You joined the beta channel on your own risk. It is really unstable and could break things daily. This is really shitty, yes, but if you want to have a usable device, don't join it.

This is recommended only to developers, bug hunters or people on secondary devices. Google also said you shouldn't do it on your main device, not if you can't risk to get it "bricked" for a few weeks.

I see much the same behavior. Notifications will work for a while, and then just stop. No calls, SMS, email, or other app notifications. I'm having to restart my phone three or four times a day to wake them up again.

I can reproduce it. It's happening during automatic switch between dark/light mode but only if the display is not active during the switch.

The issue is not only present in the status bar, but also in the locked screen, where notifications are not displayed either.

I have the same issue, notifications disappear from the bar every now and then (daily anyway) and is always fixed with shut down / restart.

I do use bedtime mode and sometimes when waking up early would like to pause it from the notification bar (there is option to pause for 30mins). Now that I do not have that notification there, can only pause by navigating to correct menu, or restarting the device.

Notification for incoming calls also doesn't show up if you are using any app. Doesn't show up in the call register as well.

Exactly the same issue. Whenever trying to share 9r attach any file on any of the apps, the app gets crashed.

Even the UPI lock screen is not working. The apps gets crashed.

I am not getting history of notifications of the calls and other important notifications sometimes.


This is the worst update. Couldn't expect from Google. The person who approved this update should be held responsible

This feedback app only crashed multiple times because i was trying to attach screenshot.

Even after stable release notification not working.
None of the following is working, Gmail, outlook, telegram, viber, WhatsApp.....
This release is an irony. All those beta testing and a year of work for messy version and getting a clock design ?
