I found this issue happens when androidx.appcompat:appcompat:1.6.1
is added to dependency today.
I'm sorry but, I cannot update the issue title. Could you please update it as "overrideActivityTransition doesn't work with local animation" if possible

The actually root cause is Android 14 didn't clean-up the corresponding attribute cache while re-install package.
This will be fixed in Android 14 qpr beta 2 release.
Meanwhile, please reboot device to force release the attribute cache if the resources has changed.
This can be pretty annoying during developing, sorry for the inconvenience.

Our app user reported the animation issue on Pixel 6 (Android 14 QPR1 UQ1A.231205.015) (He said it's not fixed even though he rebooted the device)
Could you please clarify whether the fix is included to QPR1 or QPR2 (or later release) ?
