Thank you for responding.
Android build
Which Android build are you using?
I am using a Google Pixel XL 2016, running PPR2.180905.006. No modifications (unlocked bootloader, etc) have been made.
Frequency
How frequently does this issue occur?
This issue occurs 100% of the time a VPN is connected.
Expected output
What is the expected output?
The expected output is for the device to behave as though it is connected to WiFi whenever it is indeed connected to WiFi, regardless of whether a VPN is running or not. The behavior is described in more technical detail here:https://developer.android.com/about/versions/pie/android-9.0-changes-all#network-capabilities-vpn .
Current output
What is the current output?
The current output mimics the Android 8.1 behavior of VPN connections: when connected to a VPN, the device behaves as though it is connected to a metered connection, regardless of whether or not the device is on data or unmetered WiFi.
Android bug report:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FJhXmcYYXePJoB6IvUCNv3619pNU9x00/view?usp=sharing
Screen record of the issue, for clarity:
See attached screenshot. The screenshot shows the device connected to both WiFi and a VPN (see status bar), and the Google Photos app not backing up the most recent picture taken for demonstration purposes. Also, no data messengers (i.e. Signal), email apps (gmail/inbox), or similar apps can retrieve messages/emails/etc, although demonstrating such a negative in a screenshot/screen recording is impossible.

Additional information: basic troubleshooting steps have been followed, including but not limited to rebooting the device, wiping the photos/VPN app data, etc. The issue remains.

Hello,
Any ideas?
Any ideas?
ch...@google.com <ch...@google.com> #9
I'm unable to reproduce the issue with my data here unfortunately; is there anything unique or different about the 2 albums that you can see? Do you ever get any other responses, or just those 2?
an...@gmail.com <an...@gmail.com> #10
Nothing is different about those 2 albums. I never get other responses, just those 2 albums.
an...@gmail.com <an...@gmail.com> #11
Nothing is special regarding those albums. When you pass the nextPageToken, that too fetches just 2 albums. This continues until the end of all the albums, with each nextPageToken just fetching 2 albums.

Hello.
A previously convenient tool from Google, namely Google proxy for images, stopped working a couple of days ago.
I mean a proxy where you could specify the size of the image. This is very convenient for some cases.
For example:
https://images1-focus-opensocial.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?url=https://assets.codepen.io/t-1/the-gibson.png&container=focus&resize_w=300&resize_h=300&refresh=2592000
But now it doesn't work. You can see a 403 error in the browser console.
I'm wondering if Google decided to abandon this method or is it just some kind of problem with the servers?

This is the issue tracker for the Google Photos API.
The issue you described with the proxy does not appear to be related to the Google Photos API, so I won't be able to help with that.
sn...@gmail.com <sn...@gmail.com> #14
Yes that's right.
I just can’t personally create a topic to solve this problem.
I apologize in advance.

What about my issue with only 2 albums being displayed?
Nothing is special regarding those albums. When you pass the nextPageToken, that too fetches just 2 albums. This continues until the end of all the albums, with each nextPageToken just fetching 2 albums.

Description
Hello,
If I go to the Google API documentation page:https://developers.google.com/photos/library/reference/rest/v1/albums/list
You will see a section to “Try this method”. If you don’t see it, click on “Try it”.
For pageSize I put in 50.
I ensured that: Make sure “Google OAuth 2.0” and “API key” are selected.
I only get 2 results:
{ “albums”: [ { “id”: “AA76VlM9OrwPXq8kzdW_<truncated.”, “title”: “11 FEB 2024 – Manastirea Robaia”, “productUrl”: “https://photos.google.com/lr/album/AA76VlM9OrwPXq8k<truncated>”, “mediaItemsCount”: “24”, “coverPhotoBaseUrl”: “https://lh3.googleusercontent.co
}
{ “id”: “AA76VlP7wsD8bArrYRmpybjGf8c5yvZKwW<truncated>”, “title”: “4FEB2024 – Biserica Izvoarelor de Leac”, “productUrl”: “https://photos.google.com/lr/album/AA76VlP7wsD8bArrYRmpybj <truncated>”,
“mediaItemsCount”: “30”,
“coverPhotoBaseUrl”: “https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/l
}
],
“nextPageToken”:<truncated>
}
Is there a way to have more than 2 results displayed?
Thanks.
