I've noticed that searching for `in:muted` works just fine, but the underlying implementation doesn't seem to be exposed.
It'd be awesome (from a client's) point of view if this was exposed as a label, but I could understand if you needed it to be a separate flag.

It would be great to get this; it is odd that it is missing in the API.

Lots of colleagues hit "reply all" to announcements, which is cluttering my mailbox. The Mute functionality in the Gmail app is very helpful for this, would love to also see it in other apps that use Gmail API.

Please mute the conversation view, it gets too large and cumbersome.
Description
Expose the functionality of muting in the API. I would have expected there to be a MUTED label under the System category which would correspond to the in-browser concept of muting.
Or, if this is already possible: document how to do this.
What existing APIs would this affect?
Probably the labels?
Notes:
In GMail if you search label:mute you get muted conversations. If I try to apply a label MUTE or MUTED I get:
googleapiclient.errors.HttpError: <HttpError 400 when requesting
Indicating this isn't really handled by labels. It's all very confusing.
