it's difficult to map desktop mouse and keyboard actions designed for a large screen onto a tiny device with
touch. Your suggestions are welcome.

I think allowing the ability to read word docs would be a great start. I don't think
i would want to edit a spreadsheet on my phone, but I would like to be able to open
.doc files from an email.

Even the ability to edit text files stored in Google Docs would be a step in the right direction and better than
nothing. It's a shame right now there's no Google Docs support since the syncing over the air with GMail,
Address Book and Google Calendar out of the box without any additional add on apps is in my mind what sets
Android phones apart from other smart phones. Adding Google Docs support would complete this set of over
the air syncing features.

We need teh ability to edit docs. It does not seem very difficult because GDocs has
done it, albeit in a haphazard way by Import/Export. It should be direct Sync.

For mapping touchscreen -> kb/ms events, I would map mouse events kind of like a
synaptics touchpad. Touch to click, drag to scroll, double-tap and drag to select a
range. Then a slightly-long touch to bring up the OSK unless the devices has a
hardware keyboard extended. My phone has a keyboard, and I would be happy to have it
required for editing.
