When serving up MP4 videos through HTML5 video tags, videos won't play if coming from a password protected folder or server requiring authentication.

That's with the Chrome browser.

However, they do work with the Firefox browser (uses WebM).

i've been trying to solve the same issue for months. the files located in a htaccess folder play perfectly fine with html 5 tags in chrome on my PC but will not play in chrome on my android device or tablet. I have tested unprotected files and they DO play in chrome on my android device and tablet.

I am developing a single page for all clients to hear their music projects without each other having access to each other's files, so i must get this to work!

can anyone help?

Same problem here with Chrome and Android's stock browser on 4.3. htaccess protected videos won't play.
