I've reported this before, but it was marked as "working as intended" even though only a small fraction of what I wrote was addressed (which is also wrong).

It's important to fix these 3 bugs.

Maybe provide a fix via the support library too. One that will also make it easier to customize, and somehow support new features of Android 6 and Android N .
