Description
Pixel 9 with the December update
TP-Link AX6000 v 1.0 with the latest updates
Wifi 5ghz only, DFS channel
When I change a wireless setting on the router, specifically, the mode, to 802.11ax only, the Pixel 9 will drop intermittently. Sometimes would occur about once an hour, sometimes it would occur once every 48 hours. The procedure for reconnection was:
1. Go to the wifi settings on the phone
2. Click the router name to try to reconnect
3. The phone would automatically turn the wifi off
4. Manually turn the wifi back on
5. Click the router name to successfully reconnect
Troubleshooting steps already taken:
- This was not an issue when the router mode was 802.11a/n/ac/ax mixed (this is the temporary fix)
- Rebooting phone and router
- Forgetting and reconnecting to router
- In 802.11ax only mode, other devices (Windows, Sonos, Motorola edge plus 2023 with Android 14) stay connected
Troubleshooting step not taken due to impracticality on home network:
- Moving to 2.4ghz or a non-DFS 5ghz channel
- Trying a different router to see if the problem is the router
