Problem you have encountered:  We have some troubles to preconfigure the time zone when deploying newly created VMs, as it always uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) which is the default time zone as documented here[1]. Even if we use a custom image with a customized time zone, once the VM is created it goes back to UTC.

What you expected to happen: We would like to have a way (either a flag for the gcloud command[2] or an option on the Google Admin console) to customize the time zone

Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc): So far a workaround is to use startup scripts, but is would be a way easier to have an option.
