Description
NOTE: This form lets you submit a DMA Interop request to Google with GENERAL PUBLIC VISIBILITY, meaning that other users will be able see your request, comment on it, and upvote it, once submitted. If you would like to create a request with private visibility so that only you and Google can view your issue, please use the form at shortlink:https://bit.ly/3OXNhgq .
Article 6(7) of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) provides for effective interoperability with the Android operating system under certain circumstances. As an open source operating system, Android has always supported interoperability. Through this form, EU-based developers of Android apps may request additional support for interoperability from Android.
We will review your request and provide you with a response within 6 weeks, informing you of the outcome of the review or seeking additional information to inform our review. Requests submitted through this form will have general public visibility in the AOSP Tracker, meaning that other users will be able see your request, comment on it, and upvote it.
Before you submit your request, please make sure to provide us with all of the information requested below. We can’t review your request until you’ve provided valid and complete information for all of the questions. After an initial review, we may also seek additional information to help us evaluate your interoperability request.
Confirm that you are a developer that resides in the EU or are submitting this request on behalf of a company that is based in the EU. If you are submitting this request on behalf of a company, please identify the company, including its corporate name and the city and country in which it is headquartered. (required)
Description of your Android app or service for which you are requesting an interoperability solution. (required)
Details of functionality or feature that your app or service wants to provide to Android users on Android devices and for which it requires support from Android. (required)
Details of functionality that a Google first-party app or service has access to and that a third-party app or service does not have access to (including, where applicable, screenshots or URL). (required)
What, in your view, Android would need to do technically to make the functionality available (e.g., access to specific APIs, and where those APIs currently reside).
Whether you have considered alternative solutions (e.g., by calling on third-party APIs).
This form is only for reporting DMA interoperability requests for Android. If you are trying to report a general functional issue or request for Android, please use the appropriate component of the AOSP issue tracker athttps://goo.gl/TbMiIO .
