1. Log in with the app
2. Go to any thread. (an example :
3. Type anything, with any keyboard (does not matter if Gboard or anything else is used), as a comment to a thread. Now press enter for a new row. You see nothing happen, right?
4. Let any other app push a notification to you as a chat bubble (Facebook Messenger, Telegram... well, any app). Keep the bubble as a floating bubble.
5. Now type again inside the app. Any thread, anywhere, as long as it is a comment to a thread. Press enter again for a new row. Look carefully in the background for colour shifting.
Same issues as the very bright flash on a OnePlus, but a more subtle one exists on Pixel, at Android 14 (I think), 15, 16. 100% possible to replicate. There may be a brighter OnePlus similar flash on Pixel too, but I have the Pixel only for testing and the extreme flash OnePlus experience is fairly rare.
The very same app, but other input windows (like direct messages to users) has no issues, with chat bubbles and without it. This is linked to chat bubbles and certain special formatting input windows, as a system wide glitch. The problem remains that no input window anywhere, any app, should cause a whole overlay to switch colour/hue.
Just noticed one difference between OnePlus and Pixel. Pixel may go back to normal if you swipe up and leave the app. See second video. OnePlus may keep the glitched overlay. But the same root cause all the same.

Description
What
User experience
What type of Android issue is this?
Display or Rendering
What steps would let us observe this issue?
What did you expect to happen?
No input window, regardless of app or phone should cause reactions when typing. Causing colour changes or flashes.
What actually happened?
Colour changes because of the new text row. Or worst case on the worst phone, a really bright flash. And the root flaw exists even on Pixel.
What was the effect of this issue on your device usage, such as lost time or work?
Moderate
Additional comments
This has been an old bug. It affects OnePlus too. The worst scenario, although rare is a lot worse than the Pixel 7A. But it has the same root cause. Special input windows and an open bubble. I have no doubt there are more apps triggering this. What is worse, the gray layer sticks, if you leave the app at that particular stage.
Any keyboard, any launcher, all act the same. Only difference is that the layer is thicker on OnePlus. And that it might flash sometimes. But as said the issue, is system wide, and not brand specific.
