Heard new emulator has GLES3 support, but JNI demo fails.

Android Studio Version: 3.0 release

Emulator Version (Emulator--> Extended Controls--> Emulator Version):  26.1.4
HAXM / KVM Version:

Android SDK Tools: 26.1.1

Host Operating System: Ubuntu Linux 16.04

CPU Manufacturer: [Intel / AMD / Other] Intel

Steps to Reproduce Bug:

1. get https://github.com/googlesamples/android-ndk/tree/f9f26dfce3dda37cf08a56286dd268a0e94d9da6/gles3jni
2. import project
3. install on device

Expected Behavior:

triangles

Observed Behavior:

GLES3JNI has stopped.
