Both run together, making it possible to mirror both.
I don't get why you guys have offered device mirroring and yet you reject improving it. I requested to be able to record with audio, and it got rejected:
And I requested it to be a stand-alone, portable, floating app, and it got rejected too:
What's the point in offering this, if there are better solutions in every possible way?

Nothing prevents sndcpy to be used in combination with Studio.
lb...@gmail.com <lb...@gmail.com> #5
What I request here is to have an official support.
Add adb commands if needed, add support on the next Android version if needed, add whatever is needed to make it work no matter what's the case.
I didn't tell you how to do it. I told you that it's possible, and that others do it one way or another.
And so we should have an official way, because you can see there is a demand for it and you can see that it's a useful thing to have.
IOS already has ability to have phone calls via the PC. Why shouldn't Android be able to do it, and much more?

What's "DA" , though?

I really wish you could work together. It's a good tool, so much that I use it instead of what Android Studio offers...
At least have same features and control (or allow to have same control).

Are you actively using sound mirroring? If so, please describe your use case. Is the phone located so far from the computer that direct sound from the phone cannot be heard?
lb...@gmail.com <lb...@gmail.com> #10
1. Sound from PC speakers is almost always better heard than on the device.
2. If emulators were decent (performance and all features that a smartphone has), I would have used them much more often than smartphones. To me it seems emulators actually became worse over time. More bugs, became very slow and barely any change in what they can do. To this day, emulators lack in many features of the one basic thing that smartphone have: being a phone (Having multi-SIM, handling all phone calls operations,...). They even became worse in it, too.
3. Screen mirroring is the most similar thing to it. I work on the display of the PC without the need to do anything on the smartphone, all in front of me on the same place. Why shouldn't sound be the same?
4. There is no need to use 2 headphones and switch between them. You can connect just to the PC and that's it.
The device is connected to the PC via USB.
I wonder if it works for media alone, or for all kinds of sounds. Hope it works for calling too.
sp...@google.com <sp...@google.com> #11
Regarding items #1 and #4.
Do you listen to PC sounds using headphones or PC speakers?
lb...@gmail.com <lb...@gmail.com> #12
When I'm in a place that has people around I prefer to use headphones. When I'm alone, I use the speakers.
Why do you focus on me though?
Some people would use for one purpose, and some for another purpose. Some for one scenario, and some for a different or for many scenarios.

I'm just trying to understand the use cases for audio mirroring in order to prioritize it appropriately. Anybody who is watching this feature request is welcome to describe their use case.
lb...@gmail.com <lb...@gmail.com> #14
It could have been a component that we can install via the SDK-manager, too.
Doesn't have to be built-in inside the IDE and can't be detached.
Even emulators always had the ability to run on their own, on a new window, with or without the IDE running.

@16 Seems to work fine, but now turning off the display (while showing the content on the PC) doesn't work as it used to . On ScrCpy it works fine...
sp...@google.com <sp...@google.com> #18
Please file a new bug whenever you report a new problem.
Description
This is possible already on ScrCpy, so it should be possible here too.
