Thank you for the report. I've submitted a change which should fix this; the change will be available in Android Studio Meerkat Canary 6.

@2 canary 6? I can't even get 5...
Why mark as fixed? How can I try to reproduce if none are available...

@4 Main issue seems to be fixed, of affecting other projects.
However, about comments, it still occurs:
Type "zz", make it a comment, and delete it entirely, and still the IDE will claim it needs to sync, even though nothing has really changed. The syncing also takes long time on this case, even though the content is identical to previous time.
This version of the IDE also became worse yet again in something that keeps happening from time to time, on the very basic thing to do on an IDE: create a new project.
Here, reported yet again:
Please add a basic test before releasing a new version of the IDE. It has happened so many times before. Maybe more than 10 already.

The bug is that even though you didn't change anything on the other project, it asks you to sync, as if they are related to one another...
Another weird thing is that I think it triggers showing this sync button even if I handled a comment (add/remove/change a comment).
